Not good...

So my culture that was "clear" for MRSA finally grew it. To say I'm upset would be an understatement. I just want to go and hide in bed and just forget about the world. 2 more weeks of home IV's now. I was really excited about getting off on Monday... now no more. I was excited that maybe all my prayers to kick MRSA had been answered... and now I just don't even know. I still have faith, but I also don't even know if I should bother to hope that this inscesant bug can go away. I'm just so over it...

Hang in there Talana. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I pray that the antibiotics work and your next cultures are clear of MRSA again.

Oh Talana. I'm sorry. The first and only time (thank God) Froggy cultured Pseudomonas, it was the first time that I realized that CF was real, that she was going to culture nasty bugs forever. We've avoided MRSA so far, but our pulm just sent her culture to the "infectious disease lab" because they found something that CF'ers don't normally culture. We don't know what it means yet, but it sucks knowing that this is a life-long struggle. I'm sure you've been through it all, and I just want you to know that I think of you, and my other bloggin CF buddies with compassion and love. I hope your next culture is clean. Thinking good thoughts for you. Elise

I'm sorry to read about your MRSA woes. I've cultured it since I was 16 - now 22, and it's never really been a problem for me. I used to worry about it a lot and I was on Vanco tons, but now the docs ignore it and I sort of do the same, and so far so good.

Keep hoping that it goes away.
